While based on Kohiki, this is a unique piece created by Sakamoto, incorporating a variety of techniques.
This tasteful piece changes its appearance depending on the angle from which it is viewed, and is a must-have for your dining table.
Each piece is unique and one of a kind.
Size: H approx. 9.5cm / Inner diameter approx. 13cm
Please note that as this is a handmade piece, there may be slight differences in the texture of the glaze and size.
Artist: Takeshi Sakamoto
In 1993, he studied under the second generation Tamba ware master, Shinsui Ichino.
In 1999, he established his own studio, "Tatsumi Kiln," in Tamba Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture.
In 2006, he moved his studio to Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, where he continues to work today.
Even now, after establishing his own unique style, this rice bowl is crafted by a master maker who continues to utilize glazes and a variety of materials,
enjoying the changes that occur in the finished product through oxidation firing.
While their unique appearance is striking,
their rounded shape, which makes them seem as if they could be gently held in your hand, makes them endearing.
Because the appearance changes dramatically depending on the outside and inside,
you can enjoy the bowl from different angles, both before and after a meal.
*Sealing the bowl before use will help extend its useful life.
