Carefully layered with bengara lacquer — a traditional red iron oxide pigment long cherished in Japan — this piece reveals a calm, reddish-brown tone enriched by the subtle presence of natural wood grain beneath the surface.
Simply placing it on the table on a special occasion brings a quiet sense of celebration.
With its balanced depth, it is highly versatile — ideal as a small bowl or for shared dishes at the table.

Yuma Fukuzaki
2006 – Graduated from Osaka Municipal Crafts High School.
2010 – Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art, Department of Crafts (specializing in lacquer and woodworking).
Apprenticed under renowned lacquer artist Akito Akagi.
2020 – Became independent in Wajima, Ishikawa.
2024 – Relocated to Taka Town, Hyogo, where he established his current studio.
