Mishima Yunomi
A charming yunomi with a softly rounded form and delicate floral Mishima patterns.
Its gentle shape rests naturally in the hand, while the floral motifs bring a sense of warmth and quiet character to the surface.
The deeper you look, the more subtle expressions reveal themselves within its rich green tones.
Though rooted in the simple beauty associated with Japanese folk craft pottery, it remains approachable and easy to live with, becoming a natural companion for everyday tea.
As the clay body changes, so too do the color, texture, and overall atmosphere of the vessel.
Comparing these subtle differences is part of the pleasure of choosing and living with handmade pottery.
Size
Approx. H7 cm × Ø7.5 cm
Capacity: 110 ml
⸻
The works of ceramic artist Takumi Inokuchi are inspired by the spirit of Japanese folk craft pottery, creating vessels intended for everyday living.
Using a variety of traditional techniques—including zogan (inlay), kakiotoshi (slip carving), and gosu cobalt decoration—each piece reflects a balance of craftsmanship and approachability.
Even when the forms remain the same, different clay bodies are often used, allowing subtle variations in texture, color, and character to emerge. These differences are part of what makes each vessel unique.
Over time, the fine crackle pattern (kannyu) inside the glaze may gradually absorb color through use, giving the surface greater depth and individuality.
Reflecting the life of its owner, each piece slowly evolves with time.
These are vessels to be enjoyed not only for how they look today, but for how they continue to grow alongside everyday life.
