Introduction about Takeshi Sakamoto
After training in Tamba and starting his own business in 1993, Ken set up his workshop in his current location in Sakai City, Osaka.
Ken's workshop is located along a grass and brick road that suddenly appears like an oasis in a residential area.
When the owner was still running his store in Osaka, he broke away from the concept of egg rice as an everyday food,
When the owner was still a shop owner in Osaka, he was searching for a way to convey the value of rare eggs that are carefully selected from the environment in which they are raised to the food and water they are fed, when he came across Ken's bowls.
The bowl was rounded and fit nicely in my hand,
This encounter led to the owner's attraction to the artist's work.
The one-of-a-kind style of Shigaraki and Kyoto clay, in which glazes and metals react with each other, is something that even the artist himself does not know until it is fired.
Even the artist himself does not know his work until it is fired.
Even the artist himself does not know his work until after it is finished, and it is constantly changing and evolving.
In order to pursue beautiful and vivid colors and textures
I respect the artist's attitude of daring to challenge difficult things and keeping an inquiring mind.
The more kindly he listens to our life advice, the more we think that time and training will make him a deeper person.
He is a warm person with a deep and receptive heart.
He is so warm and generous that you would think that such time would deepen his character,
Please come and see Ken's works, which you may even feel like just displaying.
