Dai Shikai
2017 – Entered the Tochigi Prefectural Ceramic Art Support Center and studied under Minoru Suzuki.
2019 – Became independent and established his studio in Mashiko, Tochigi.
Primarily in Tochigi, Ibaraki, and Fukushima, Shikai personally gathers clay and stones from nature.
Through repeated experimentation — almost like engaging in a dialogue with the earth — he continues to create truly one-of-a-kind works.
Fired in traditional wood-burning kilns, his pieces highlight the natural character of clay and stone.
They carry a quiet strength while maintaining a humble and gentle presence.
